The Boston Celtics defeated the Washington Wizards 118-100 in the play-in round on Tuesday night. Boston secured the seventh seed for the playoffs and a first-round matchup with second-seeded Brooklyn, which begins on Saturday.
Also on Tuesday, the Indiana Pacers defeated the Charlotte Hornets 144-117 in their play-in game in Indianapolis. Washington will now host Indiana for the eighth seed on Friday. The winner of that game will face Philadelphia, the top seed for the Eastern Conference playoffs.
