Maracujá takes you on a journey around Latin America playing a wide variety of music from upbeat sambas and wild party sones and cumbias, to wistful bossa novas and plaintive boleros. It is music for dancing and music for listening.

Maracujá was formed in Seattle during the summer of 2013 as a collaborative project of Caitlin Belem and Terrence Rosnagle. Separately, both had extensive experience with Brazilian and Latin music– living, playing, and studying in countries including Brazil, Cuba, Argentina, and Spain. Maracujá has since grown as an established act that regularly plays some of Seattle’s top venues, regional festivals and tours the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West.

Caitlin Belem grew up in a house full of music in Northern Wyoming, fell in love with the fiddle at a young age and continued learning– singing and playing saxophone and guitar. She has explored many genres from Brazilian bossa nova and samba, to Cuban son, to American jazz, blues, and swing. Aside from Maracujá, Caitlin sings and plays with Modern Bygones and various local and traveling musicians. She has performed everywhere from living rooms to 1200 seat concert halls to television programs from Barcelona to Brazil. Caitlin also teaches music through school programs, private lessons, workshops and summer camps.

Terrence Rosnagle grew up in the Los Angeles area. Initially inspired to play guitar by Delta Blues, as an adult became fascinated by the sound and complex synthesis of African, European, and Middle Eastern music traditions that make up Latin American and Brazilian music. Terrence later moved to Spain to study and play Flamenco guitar – to Istanbul to study Ud and Turkish music – then to South America soaking up folkloric and Brazilian guitar styles. Terrence has performed, toured, played on radio and television, and given workshops and classes in the United States, Spain, and Turkey.
