Nico Composto on Dealing with Depression as a College Runner

June 26, 2019 @ 6:30 am - 7:30 pm

Mark the evening of June 26 on your calendars for this year’s first “Speaking of Running” series talk from the Helena Vigilante Runners. Among many running accolades, Nico Composto (of Missoula) was an All-American NCAA Division 1 Cross Country runner for Columbia University a few years back and the overall men’s champion of the last two Montana Cup races. What many of us in the Montana running community may not already know, however, is that Nico struggled with depression while running in college–a story he tells in a highly inspirational article he wrote for LetsRun.com titled “Dealing with Depression: How I Got Past Suicidal Thoughts While Running in College.”

Nico will be speaking to the Vigilante Runners on the same subject matter in his upcoming talk. We hope you all can make it, and please feel free to invite non-athletes who may relate or be interested in the mental health story line.

Also, don’t forget to read Nico’s great article for yourself and be sure to thank him for making the trip from Missoula.

Free event.
