What does hunger look like in Montana? Are seniors affected? One in nine Montanans are at risk of food insecurity and more than 8% of Montana seniors live below the poverty level. Is there a connection between hunger and economic insecurity? Gayle Carlson, Executive Director, Montana Food Bank Network, will explain the answers to these questions. Gayle graduated from Michigan State University and holds a Master’s degree in Adult Education and Distance Learning. She is a graduate of the 2014 class of Leadership Montana. She currently serves as the Western Region Representative and Vice Chair on Feeding America’s National Advisory Council. She is the mother of two and grandmother of two. She has lived in Montana for 36 years.
