- Montana Historical Society is excited to bring you Dr Diane Boyd as part of the NEA Big Read! Dr Diane Boyd will discuss wolf ecology, wolf-human interactions through thousands of years of coexistence, the present status of wolves in the US, the latest in scientific findings about wolves, and the fears that feed the current wolf hype. Diane has traveled many paths in her 45-year career as a biologist.
- Dr. Diane Boyd has four decades of applied expertise on behavior, conservation and management of wild wolf populations. She moved to Montana in 1979 where her work has focused on wolf ecology, dispersal, habitat use, prey selection, behavior, morphology, genetic relationships, and the social dimensions of wolf-human conflict resolution.
- Dr Boyd received her Ph.D. from the University of Montana, where she continues to teach after recently retiring from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. She continues her wolf conservation efforts on a broader scale through teaching and writing including her memoir, A Woman Among Wolves: My Forty Year Journey Through Wolf Recovery.
